Onsite Provide Public Address for D-Day Celebrations at Duxford

Radio Links Communications were proud to be part of the recent D-Day 75th Anniversary Celebrations.

Our Onsite Event Department's Public Address systems at RAF Duxford helped to keep the crowds updated as more than 30 Douglas DC-3 / C-47 'Dakotas' prepared to take to the skies to recreate their historic flight across the English Channel on D-Day 75 years ago.

The Dakota aircraft took off from Duxford airfield from 1.40pm with their route taking them over Colchester, Southend, Maidstone and Eastbourne, before crossing the English Channel to reach Le Havre at around 3.20pm.

They then headed to the Normandy drop zone of Sannerville for 4.30pm, where hundreds of paratroopers descended before the planes reach Caen, their final destination, at 4.45pm.

Our Public Address system was linked to their own audio systems to keep the crowd informed and entertained throughout the celebrations.
