Onsite Engineers Install Radios In Wimbledon Courtesy Cars

Over 150 Jaguar and Land Rover courtesy cars, used to transport players and officials from their London hotels to Wimbledon, were fitted with Hytera Digital two-way radios by a team of Onsite engineers during June.

An integral part of the huge success of the Wimbledon Championships is the ability of the organisers to ensure that the participating players and officials are all in the right place at the right time.  To do this they acquire a massive fleet of Jaguar cars and Land Rover SUV’s to transport players, coaches and officials and from their various London based hotels to the Wimbledon venue.

To make this operation work seamlessly across the capital our company was given the job of installing new technology, digital two-way radios in all of the vehicles to allow Wimbledon’s operation control centre to communicate with the courtesy car drivers and direct them where to pick up, drop off or where to position for their next job.

By using their in-vehicle two-way radios, drivers have the ability to communicate with the controllers to advise on the completion of pick-ups, drop offs and of any delays caused by London traffic.

Our company’s expertise in the installation of two-way radio systems that can cover areas the size of London, together with the experience we have gained while providing these types of radio systems over the last 45 years, is why Wimbledon choose us to provide them this this extremely valuable and integral part of the smooth running of the Wimbledon Championships.
