Handportable two-way radios that we hire out, typically work over about 3-5km working in back-to-back mode, depending on the local terrain and obstructions etc. If you are organising a larger event over greater distances and still need to communicate radio to radio, we can recommend, supply and install repeater base stations that will greatly improve the performance and coverage of your hired radio system.
Repeater base station radios are simply “boosters” that are installed centrally with an associated high gain antenna. These boosters receive the transmissions from your mobile or handportable radio equipment and relays your signal to other radio users on your system.
Installing a repeater base station and antenna, and engineering your radio system in this manner significantly increases two-way radio coverage and enables radios to work at a greater distance and penetrates into areas that may have suffered from poor reception or dead spots, when working without a repeater in place.
As part of our comprehensive service we also provide specialist frequency management, and for larger events we provide all radio frequency co-ordination to minimise the risk of radio interference from other radio users on site, during your event.
